White Whipped Frosting

1/2 c Crisco
1/2 c butter or margarine
1 c sugar
3/4 c hot milk
1 t vanilla

Cream butter, shortening and sugar very well. Add milk very gradually. 1 tablespoon at a time, while mixing on high constantly. Add vanilla and beat until slightly stiff.

Buttermilk Cake

This is a very large cake. I would double the topping, because its so large...And its one of my favorite frostings so I like it a bit on the thick side.

Dry Ingredients:

3 3/4 c all purpose flour
2 t baking powder
1 1/2 t baking soda
1/2 t salt

Wet Ingredients:

1 c shortening
1 1/4 t vanilla
2 c sugar
4 eggs
2 c buttermilk

Alternate dry with wet mixture. Divide evenly between 3 greased and floured, 9 in. round baking pans. Bake for 350 for 35 min or until springs in the middle when touched.

Frost with White Whipped Frosting.
